Young and research-intensive, Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) is ranked 13th globally. It is also placed 1st amongst the world’s best young universities. The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) at NTU is a national science Research Centre of Excellence. Its mission is to conduct fundamental research on earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunami and climate change in and around Southeast Asia, toward safer and more sustainable societies. The Observatory’s Ocean Exploration Laboratory is developing cutting-edge technology to monitor tsunami, earthquake, and volcanic activity in the ocean to complete our extensive land-based networks in Southeast Asia. Our broad goal is to map the oceans with autonomous robots, to reveal the remaining unknown landscapes of our planet. We invite applicants for a Research Associate in marine robotics who will work on the project to develop, work on maintenance, and deployment of marine geodetic system on autonomous marine robots, the Wavegliders.
Bachelors or Masters degree with some experience in robotics and/or marine instrumentation.
Relevant specialties include mechanical engineering, software engineering, systems engineering or related fields.
Strong expertise in marine robotics, including but not limited to software, mechanical and communication engineering.
