FACILITIES

In-house Labs

  • Research Sites
  • In-house Labs

The Earth Observatory of Singapore is building a range of in-house resources and capabilities to help the institute meet its scientific objectives. This equipment and the data acquired are available to collaborators as well as EOS researchers. Resources now available or under development include the following:

Data Centre
The equipment includes a networked Linux system for archiving and processing GPS/seismic geophysical data.

Geophysical Instrumentation and Data Analysis Lab
Experimentation is done to develop and improve field instrumentation for GPS/seismic monitoring and methods of data processing and interpretation.

WOVOdat (under development)
When completed, the World Organisation of Volcano Observatories Database will provide historical, parametric data on volcanic unrest worldwide in a standardised format. It will be useful for basic research as well as crisis response in volcanic eruptions.
