Scott M. Graves is an Assistant Professor in Southern Connecticut State University’s Department of Science Education and Environmental Studies. He is currently carrying out research which encompasses classroom and field-based applied science and environmental education studies examining strategies for infusing appropriate technologies in community-based educational programs. He is also involved in developing innovative course experiences and in securing funding and equipment to create hand-on science and environmental field studies opportunities for teachers.

The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) has invited Scott M. Graves, Assistant Professor from Southern Connecticut State University, to conduct a one-day workshop for both geography and science teachers using investigative approaches in teaching earth sciences.

Scott will guide teachers on how to use common misconceptions as starting points for uncovering the big ideas in earth sciences. Also, participants would be given the opportunity to take part in a lively exchange where they get to share ideas on successful teaching approaches for physical geography and science in Singapore schools.

Come join us for this exciting introduction to earth sciences and approaches for use in the classroom. Learn how to use techniques in the classroom to ignite students’ passion for investigating how nature works.

Who Should attend: Geography and Science Secondary / JC Teachers and HODs who have a keen interest in earth sciences.
