KOH Tieh Yong, a principal investigator on regional climate modeling at EOS, is also an assistant professor in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at Nanyang Technological University, where he has received awards for excellence in teaching. He is also a principal investigator on tropical weather science at Temasek Laboratories @ NTU. His research focuses on the dynamics of atmospheric conditions in the tropics and he runs mathematical models for atmospheric prediction in Southeast Asia. Dr. Koh received his undergraduate education in Physics at Imperial College London, UK, and pursued his PhD education in Atmospheric Science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. He was an adviser to the Climate Change exhibition at Singapore Science Centre, an examiner for the International Physics Olympiad, and a convener for a series of biennial sessions on numerical modeling and atmospheric prediction in the tropics at Asia-Oceania Geosciences Society’s annual meetings.
