Dr. Emma HILL is a geodesist with research interests in the areas of climate change and crustal deformation. She is currently investigating the tectonics of the Sumatran subduction zone using high-precision GPS geodesy. She is also investigating glacier melting and regional variations in sea-level change using GRACE satellite gravity data. She obtained her B.Sc. in Surveying and Mapping Science from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK, a Ph.D. in Geophysics from the University of Nevada, Reno, USA, and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. Prior to joining EOS, she held a research scientist position of Geodesist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. Dr. Hill is currently a member of the American Geophysical Union Leadership Council and the UNAVCO Education and Outreach Advisory Committee.
