Professional Activities:

- 2010-2012 Member of the Council of the American Geophysical Union. The Council is responsible for developing the scientic policy and direction of the AGU, an 60,000 scientific member organization
- Chair (2010) and Member (2007-2009) of the UNAVCO Education and Outreach Advisory Committee. UNAVCO is a large, non-profit consortium whose mission is to support and promote earth science by advancing the high-precision measurement of crustal deformation.
- 2010 Member of the UNAVCO Bylaws Task Force
- 2010 Member of the American Geophysical Union Strategic Planning Task Force, a 16-member task force with the purpose of drafting a plan for the strategic direction of AGU over the next 5-10 years.
- 2008-2010 E-mentor for female and minority-group graduate students in science and engineering through the MentorNet program (www.mentornet.net). Provide advice and support on career progression and any personal/professional difficulties to a geoscience graduate student through weekly e-mail communications.
- 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 Judge for the Outstanding Student Paper Award (Geodesy section) at the AGU Fall Meetings.
- Responsible for organizing the student poster competition at the 2009 EarthScope National Meeting. Organized 30 scientists to judge a combined total of 150 presentations.
- Convener of various special sessions at AGU and AOGS meetings over the years.
