Comparison Of Modern Tsunami And Cyclone Deposits Along The South-East Coast Of India
This project was initiated and is led by Seshachalam Srinivasalu of Anna University, Chennai, to examine the devastating December 31st 2011, Cyclone Thane sedimentary deposits along the southern coastline of Tamil Nadu Province in India.
This location was also heavily affected by the 26th December 2004, Indian Ocean Tsunami. We are collaborating with Anna University to characterise and compare the sedimentological and geomorphical changes wrought by these two events along this coastline.
High-resolution Ground-Penetrating Radar was also applied to characterise the sedimentary characteristics and structures formed by these two events.
