Modelling Coastal Inundation Using Geological Evidence

Our modelling projects work on the development and application of hydrodynamic numerical models for coastal hazard mitigation and forecasting in six different countries around Asia.

The focus of this work is to develop an operational in-house system that integrates observed inundation evidence from historical and paleo-events and generates hindcast numerical simulations of possible storm surge- or tsunami-generated inundation scenarios that can be used to provide hazard assessments based on the paleo-record.
