Coastal Lab involved in Sustainability research

The Coastal Lab is active in sustainability research. Assistant Professor Adam Switzer gave invited presentations on 'Coastal Living in Asia: Will the Risks Be Greater in a Future Warmer Climate?' at two conferences in 2012:

-       Asia Public Policy Forum: Disaster Management in Asia, sponsored by Harvard University Asia Center and Harvard Kennedy School Programme on Crisis Leadership, held at the Lee Kuan Yew School, Singapore, 13-15 May 2012

-       Workshop on natural disasters and climate change in Asia, organized by the Southeast Asia Disaster Prevention Research Institute (SEADPRI) and held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 5-7 November 2012.

Dr Switzer is also active in outreach within the insurance industry and recently gave an invited keynote titled 'The biggest of BIG in coastal hazards: How do we plan for catastrophes with thousand year return intervals?' at the Cat Risk Management and Underwriting: Measurement, modeling and exposure of cats and perils in the APAC region meeting which was held in Singapore from the 23-25 January 2012.
